Blogging About March Madness: Writing About Basketball - Jimmy Hall

It's March, so NCAA Basketball is in full-swing, and bloggers need to be writing about March Madness. The question is, what is left to write about? Apart from undefeated Kentucky being "unbeatable," and Duke losing in the ACC Tournament, does anybody really care about anything else?

I am a University of Georgia Fan. As of today, we are out of the SEC Tourney, but will likely make March Madness; still, should I be happy? What should I be writing about basketball? I am an Atlanta guy.

Maybe the thing to do is to predict the demise of Kentucky. Everyone in the country thinks they are a shoo-in to win the NCAA Championship; so, why not predict it the other way? How 'bout an early loss and exit from the tournament? (Remember San Francisco's 29-0 '77 team, that then met and lost 121-95 to UNLV in the first round?) Or, what about a Cinderella Georgia run?

Imagine that, the Dawgs winning the NCAA Tourney, and the National Championship. We did have a lead on Kentucky in one of the last games of the regular season, and were tied at half-time. I guess it could happen. If you can play with Kentucky, on any given night you can stay with anyone.

This basketball blogging deal is simply not working out. Basketball and blogging do not mix without throwing in flashy personalities. It may be March Madness time, but I think I sure could write a lot better about the Atlanta Hawks; they've won 51 games!
