Business Plans Resemble Resumes: Business Plan Development/Plan Writers (404) 580-1501

Business plans to new endeavors or expansions are akin to resumes for job seekers. Each is a necessary means amid the process for a definite ends, whether in Atlanta, Georgia, New York City, New York, or a small town in Iowa. How so?

Resumes secure job interviews, whereas business plans obtain funding and provide a solid track or plan of action for initial and day-to-day operations, once started. This is basically true everywhere in the Western World. Without cash/capital a business simply cannot start 99.9% of the time – or expand. Basic Business 101.

I write business blueprints for a living; yes, I am a business plan writer/developer at Jimmy Hall Writing Services/Atlanta (404-580-1501). These plans require solid information from the entrepreneur and great business writing skills from the writer. (Again, just like resumes.)

The same way most job candidates gather their info and data and provide it to a resume writing service for a professional plan document to be crafted, entrepreneurs gather info and write down or explain their unique ideas to a professional writer to work-up their business plans for financial institutions, investors, and potential partners and managers.

You see, both employers and financial institutions/venture capitalists want to know the basics about people and how they intend to operate once they are involved with them. What are the prospects of success or failure of this employee or this organization? Will it pay a lender or investor to provide cash? Can it be repaid or multiplied?

Understand that even a great idea means nothing without a great plan and the right people managing and implementing it. The same is also true for a job applicant; a great resume for someone that has somehow changed for the worst means nothing.

Therefore, both resumes and business plans must project the future, while using the past as a sound basis for this speculation and projecting. What is going to be done is more important that what has been done – but it is more complicated than that in both cases. How?

There are no exact formulas for success in employment or running a business; day to day adaptation and changes are required. Measures must be in place for change. Modern firms and modern people must be adaptable in actions, yet firm in moral and ethical thought – and especially their base missions.

What does all of this mean? Simple. A potential business and a potential employee, by necessity, have a lot in common. Each must be able to demonstrate the value they harbor and can unleash in the future. What?

Each person or business endeavor must also demonstrate by way of resume or business plan how they intend to function and be used to pay for themselves and then some. Potential employees and potential organizations must demonstrate value to either an employer or a supplier of money and capital.

No one or institution wants to lose cash on what turns out to be horrible opportunity costs (the cost of money or time being used in one area versus its better use elsewhere). Capitalism is about a profit motive, hopefully a noble one.

Again, at Jimmy Hall Writing Services/Atlanta (404-580-1501) I carefully craft business plans and also resumes for my clients. I’d like to assist you. Please contact me at your convenience.

Resume Services Atlanta/Douglasville/Marietta

Metropolitan Atlanta is a hotbed of commercial, retail, service, and industrial activity, more so than many other large cities or smaller towns. Good, responsible people are required to make these wheels of commerce turn.

Many jobs are there; it is a matter of matching-up people and positions. That is where the resume comes in. Hiring a solid professional resume service in Atlanta, Marietta, or Metro-Atlanta/Marietta is an important first step in placing available workers into the job pool – whether professional or blue collar. How?

Resumes are used by Human Resource Departments and Managers to separate the good job candidates from the bad. That is a blunt statement, yet generally a true one.

The average resume is looked at initially for about 30 seconds. That’s it. That is all. The bad are either thrown away or needlessly filed for 6 months or a year, whereas the better ones are set aside and the owners are contacted for interviews. Get it?

That is exactly why a good Atlanta area resume service is so important to those seeking work in North Georgia or West Georgia, to make your working life and corresponding resume standout quickly.

You must be presented honestly in your best light, and in a quick, neat, and concise manner.

The labor market (white collar and blue collar) is a giant competition. Imagine how many other people are after the very job you are?????

You must make certain you are asked to enter the front door, and then you must outshine the other job candidates with a calm and intelligent interview or perhaps a few interviews. (Know your own resume and history, inside and out.)

At Jimmy Hall Writing Services (404-580-1501) I want to assist you with your professional/executive resume or basic resume at a reasonable price. Contact me!

Life Tribute Obituaries: Obituary Writers/ATLANTA 404-580-1501

Losing a loved one is a traumatic event, and taking care of the services and/or details is not much of a pleasurable task, especially writing the obituary (I wrote both of my parents’ obits, in the Atlanta area). It is difficult to write an informative and reverential tribute or obituary about a loved-one or friend while in mourning. (Often hiring a life tribute writeror obituary writer is the best thing to do.)

What should be included in an obituary or tribute? Obviously, the basics of “who” and “when” and a bit about them should be addressed such as birthdate, places lived, career, church, and family members, and the service arrangements – but I feel like more should be added. Don’t you?

Why not include what happened? Where? Why? How? (If it is a sensitive situation, then discretion might be employed, of course.) Think about it. Isn’t it okay for an obituary to be sentimental and caring? Of course it should be!

Whether you are in Atlanta, New York City, or a small town in Iowa, people are people – not robots.

How many times have you read an obituary in the Atlanta paper or elsewhere (of an old friend or acquaintance) and had more questions than answers after reading it? Sometimes you just want to say, “Ok, what happened? He was a great guy,” or “She was a virtuous woman. Why did she die?” I think that you get my point.

We are talking about death here, usually the death of someone that was cared for and loved my many. Doesn’t he or she deserve a full and respectful treatment of their lives and death, versus basic cold and heartless obits? What would they want? Again I say, think about it.

Here is the thing; the obituary is likely your last final tribute that you will ever be able to pay to the deceased forever. Why not provide a loving and caring story of their lives for mankind to read and have on record in newspapers and online or in a memorial book? How much does your late loved one deserve? (It is humbling and sobering, I know.)

I suggest hiring a great life tribute writer or life story obituary writer to nostalgically remember your loved one with the details you and your family provide. Wake up Atlanta and beyond; pay respect to your loved ones.

At Jimmy Hall Writing Services/Atlanta (404-580-1501) I write such obituaries, and am honored to do so. Please contact me for assistance. I provide good work at a reasonable price, without taking advantage of grieving families. HJimmy577@aol.com .

Updating Resumes: Hiring Resume Updaters 404-580-1501

Who needs to update a resume? Every employable person needs to update their resume from time to time, whether they are looking for a different job or not. In this day and age anyone might suddenly be changing careers or employers at any time.

Up until just twenty five or thirty years ago it was common for employees to work hard and stay with the same company in a similar job for decades. The advent of modern technology quickly made employee loyalty and work effort a near non-factor for keeping one’s job. Why?

Computers, robotics, technology, outsourcing, and consolidation have taught human beings and industry “efficiency,” and “economies of scale.” Get it?
As technology advances, fewer and fewer employees are required to do the same amount of work. This is, in effect, the very nature of Capitalism – and adjustments do come about as one type of position disappears and eventually another evolves or begins.

Even a God-fearing and hard- working loyal company employee can now lose his or her job after decades of faithful work effort – many times losing benefits and retirement along with the position. This is true for manual labor and white collar work. Everything is changing rapidly. Loyalty has almost become a one-way street, employee to employer only.

How, then, does someone update their resume? In most cases a resume service or resume writer is hired to reorganize and update the information from a past resume of the client. Hiring resume updaters is generally a smart decision. Hiring or not hiring a professional resume preparer can make the difference between obtaining an entire career or not.

The new or updated resume is composed by modernizing an older one, using the latest important keywords, adjectives, and buzz words – while also adding the newer jobs/positions and making extrapolations based upon the longer length of work experience.

What has been achieved by an employee in the past is still the best indicator of what will be done in the future; but, the potential employee may well convince an employer that he or she can do more, if the resume writer/resume updater correctly links past employment and skills to future potential (required for the position in question) in a logical manner. A bridge must be demonstrated between the past and the future. Specialization, stability, and personal growth are highly regarded.

The point to all of this is that at any point in time an accurate and updated resume may well be needed by any of the vast majority of employed and unemployed people. Almost everyone is vulnerable to the often unstable movements of the business cycle and the macro economy.

Given the competitive nature of the labor market and the quick time frames now used in filling vacant positions, it is simply common sense that it is a great idea to have an updated resume in-hand in case there is a need for a new position, particularly at a moment’s notice.

At Jimmy Hall Writing Services/Atlanta-Douglasville, Georgia and online (404-580-1501), I update resumes for clients – including executive resumes, basic resumes, student resumes, and federal resumes.

Cover Letters: Cover Letter Writing/Atlanta 404-580-1501

“Should I write my own cover letter?” This is a common question by job applicants in metro Atlanta, Marietta, Macon, and across the nation, whether they be changing positions or simply looking for a job. The answer is that your resume and cover letter are your first two tasks for a potential employer. What you provide is your first work for them.

You had better do well, or delegate the letter wisely because the buck stops with you. This is real life and your goal is to be invited into the employer’s door for a meeting/interview. The letter and resume are also tests! How well do you work? They speculate immediately by what you give them.

Having said that - this piece will focus on cover letters that accompany resumes. Like the resume, the cover letter is meant to assist in obtaining a job interview, no matter if you are located in Atlanta, Georgia or New York City, New York. I feel like the letter also helps to “break the ice” before actually meeting the reader. It should help you to be more at ease!

Contact Info/Date

A good cover letter written by a good cover letter writer will place the date, name, and full address of the writer/applicant in the upper right corner. On the left side (a few lines beneath that) the name, title, company name, and full address of the recipient should be placed. (Make certain that you figure out exactly who the letter & resume should be addressed to.)

Address The Reader

Now you are ready to address the reader, I prefer “Dear Mr./Ms./Mrs. …..,” but in certain cases a formal greeting may be required. Look into it if addressing prominent political/governmental or legal figures. The majority of the time a simple Mr. or Ms. Or Mrs. Will do. Just do not blatantly offend the reader. Know your recipient; know their marital status and gender. Use a little common sense. “Ms.” Works for all females (though some prefer “Mrs.” If married.)

Statement Of Interest/Intent

The body of the cover letter should start with a statement of what it is being sent for, and that the resume is accompanying it. Be brief and include your blunt intent. Be enthusiastic but firmly-rooted in your purpose.

Show Your Value

Next, make a point of demonstrating what value you can bring to the department or company by joining it. What do you bring to the table? Why should you be given the time of day? This is extremely important, particularly in competitive areas like Atlanta, etc.

Background/Credentials

Above you stated your potential value to the organization, next provide support for that. What are your credentials via education and work experience? Job titles? Talents related to the job opening? Something extra you have to share? Be specific.

Suggest Future Action/Determine Level Of Employer Interest

Next, you should suggest a specific time range for determining (by telephone call, usually) if and when further discussion and interview plans should be made, if the potential employer shows interest.

Statement Of Appreciation/Compliment

End the letter with a nice statement of appreciation of their consideration of you. In addition, it is always nice to pay the company a nice compliment, something that demonstrates that you have done your homework about it. Then close with a simple “Sincerely,” and sign above the typed name. (Show your initials and that there is an enclosure, as well – usually on the bottom left hand side…..  YOU ARE DONE!

Work Letters: Writing Workplace Letters/Chain Of Command 404-580-1501

Often times employees (whether managers, office workers, warehouse employees, laborers, or executives) find themselves in the position of needing to compose a written communication to someone above them in the chain of command. Perhaps you are one of them?

There is a secret for success in writing workplace and business letters. It all starts with the letter writer addressing the letter to the correct person. It does little, if any, good to simply write a memo or communication to “someone” higher-up and expect something to be done (unless you know them well and they like you).

Write To The Correct Person

Indeed, you must write to exactly the correct person with the interest and authority to make your desired changes occur. (In many cases their secretaries are actually the best choice, but that is a discussion about the informal chain of command for another time.) Do not waste your time writing to anyone not directly involved with the sphere of the situation.

Once you discern who should be contacted, then you must address them in a courteous manner (even if they are a part of the problem) and demonstrate due respect for their position and your respect for the chain of command. Their impression of YOU is important.

Provide Information In Context/Demonstrate Problems

Next, explain the general situation in context. Be informative. Provide a concise and interesting take on what is going on; then isolate the particular problems that need to be addressed.

Involve The Reader

It is then important to frame the situation in such a way as to make the reader feel compelled to be directly involved in an ongoing manner. Make sure they see the upside of their involvement or the downside of their not being involved. Demonstrate this vested interest.

Provide Potential Solutions

Then, you should provide one or more potential solutions that benefit all parties involved in the dilemma and improve things. Never just write a letter complaining about something without also providing possible answers and solutions. Put some thought into it. The less time and thought the decision-maker needs to put in it, the more likely they will apply or implement the desirable changes.

Thank The Reader/Propose Further Contact

After doing all of this, you should then thank the reader for their time and consideration and propose or mention a concrete time frame and way to resume the dialogue (with a meeting or call, etc). Close nicely, but firmly – do not just put yourself or your cause at their mercy! Accountability matters, even with respect to time.

Changing Jobs: Resumes Are Job Tools/Demonstrate Transferability Of Skills 404-580-1501

Many people are interested in changing jobs and positions in Georgia and elsewhere, some even desire to change companies and firms. If you are reading this piece, you are likely one of them. In most cases this requires hiring a resume service or resume writer to update your resume. Why?

Resumes are the applicants’ first job assignment, and they are a tool. That’s right. Presenting one’s self to the hiring organization is the very first display of your work quality and diligence. Whether the task is done yourself or delegated to a resume writer, the responsibility is all yours!

But, it is not just about the resume project itself; this resume (whether an executive resume, professional resume, basic resume, or federal resume) must present an accurate snapshot of you, your working life, abilities, and what you have to offer a future employer. Again, it is a tool.

So, the resume absolutely must present specific achievements and awards and accomplishments (since your past is considered the best indicator of your future), and demonstrate a transferability of the past and your skills into an available future position.

As a job applicant, you have to be able to add value to the hiring company and have credentials or actions that backup this potential. However, you cannot just list them in a physical manner; you should extrapolate the available underlying knowledge, skills, talents, experience, and character traits that are the basis for your accomplishments. How are your skills transferable?

All honest work is of some use and is profitable to the person that performed it. Therefore, it is profitable to potential employers as well. Whatever grains of good you possess must be displayed in an extrapolated manner.

Whether you are or have been in a job as a file clerk, hamburger flipper, secretary, trash man, fireman, or a ditch digger, or contrarily have the better background of a manager or well-educated high rise executive, you have some solid base qualities that are transferable to new positions. What are they?

Think hard. You have more great attributes than you realize!

I would rather be an honest and noble secretary or blue collar worker than a well-educated white collar executive that is dishonest and evil (most are actually honest). God and society honor hard work, if often in a round-about manner.

The bottom line is that we all have material that can be profitable to place on our resumes. It should be presented in the best possible light on our resume to obtain job interviews.

The whole purpose of a resume is to separate the applicant from the pack, and obtain them a job interview where they can then sell themselves. Hire a great resume service/resume writer, and then polish up your appearance and interviewing skills without being a pre-rehearsed fake. Be yourself, but know your facts and your own resume.
