Christian Business Ethics and Capitalism, For The Writer? ~ Jimmy Hall

Can someone be a successful businessperson and adhere to stringent Biblical Christian Principles and Practices? The answer is a resounding "Yes!" The truth is that a person that follows Scripture in their business and writing life will generally benefit as much or more than the everyday person does while engaging in a Christian lifestyle. Christian business ethics and Capitalism do go hand-in-hand for writers. We all eventually reap what we sow.

Christians: Do Unto Others, Go The Extra Mile

Professionally, I operate Jimmy Hall Writing Services/Douglasville , and like to think that I treat my clients just as I would like to be treated. Indeed, I feel like I should go the extra mile (so to speak) not only to provide them a better product (which they are paying hard-earned money for) but to also make a good name for myself in the writing industry, and garner a solid word-of-mouth reputation/referrals.

Capitalism, and Competition that springs-forth from it, raises the expected standards and quality of all forms of writing - while keeping business writing moderately priced. I can attest to this fact! If you will notice, management books are themselves often a mirror of age-old Christian Practices, Proverbs, and Bible Verses. Many are in this very blog piece, unidentified.

Christian Writers' Reputations Are Everything

For writers, a notoriously drinking bunch (whether literary or business-oriented), providing a good days work in return for a good day's pay will soon become a thing of the past if the reputation of being a corporate hack or un-knowledgeable  "writer-for-hire" is ever earned! With websites like Craig's List, Angie's List, and other local consumer sites, a poor writer or an overly-high-priced one will not stay busy very long.

Indeed, a good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and a good name earned can indeed bestow great riches. Every Atlanta writer should compose copy for others just as if it was being written for his or her own purposes.  Think hard about that. Good intentions matter.

Even Writers Work For God/ The Lord

We each should conduct our writing and the business aspect of our writing businesses as unto the Lord - for He is our ultimate boss, the One we are actually working for amid this lifetime. Whatever we put into life, we will get much more back, multiplied. AMEN....
